Klemme, I've just read your post again. Please can you explain why on God's earth you are offerring to host this clip or send people a link to it? For what purpous exactly? Unbelievable, probably the most blatant, tactless, thoughless and ignorant thing I've read in a while.
What's the difference between offering to give people a link to an innocent man being slowly decapitated than say a link to young children being molested? They both happen and are equally as diplorable as each other. Any sane man would not want to watch this sick shit.
I hope you sleep well tonight mate after watching that video and thanks for offerring to share it with the world... you'll go to heaven for this one.

c'mon Dazz, it's morbid curiosity. I haven't seen anything more than pics and don't want to as that kind of stuff burns images into my brain I can never forget.

However, given the amount of presstime this is being given in the States (the news speaks of nothing else right now but this video) I think it's only natural for people to want to see it.

Either way, I didn't think Klemme was trying to "promote" seeing it as much as offering more info for those who are so inclined. (and it's their business since he ain't doing it here)

Again, I agree with you on the morality of it all, but I think the attack on Klemme is unwarranted. If things keep going this way we'll just close or delete the topic.

All due respect dazzler, that's being unfair to klemme. His feelings of grief are apparent, and I don't believe he intended to offer the video for thrills. I've been in discussion about this event at another forum, where the thread is now 8 pages long and still going. Some very interesting points were raised attacking and defending people who watched the clip, and the conclusion so far is that, and I don't want to get morbid, people's minds ARE enquiring and drawn to things like this, even against their better nature. I refused to watch it, then I decided to look at it. The actual witnessing of it obviously shocked me and I didn't like it, but I haven't stopped thinking about it for days. It's made me realise even more how barbaric humans can be, and how this war should be stopped ASAP.

I take your points Derek and Rudy, but I'm afraid that after seeing the vid of that Russian soldier I have absolutely no inclination to watch this one and I don't need to view it to 'understand' how barbaric and evil the crime was.

Morbid fascination or curiosity isn't in my book and grounds or justification for watching it. What If I said that I had a video of a young boy being raped, do you think that people would be as curious? Do you think that as many people would want to see it? I bet not.

.....maybe it is a good idea to close this topic as it has bugger all to do with drumming. Don't get me started on the wasr in Iraq.

Being an ex-military man I scoffed when Mr. Bush said we'd win that war in a month. Will our troops come home soon? Don't bank on it. Even if Iraq and Afghanistan were the ONLY mission (and they're not) it's going to take a long time to clean up just those two shit holes. The war on terrorism and America's occupation of middle eastern countries will last longer than the rest of any of us will live.

And atrocities? Gentlemen, I fear we ain't seen nothing yet. [img]graemlins/broken_heart.gif[/img]

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I'm sorry if I offended you Dazzler, nowhere near my intentions at all to promote the video, in terms of thrills, i have seen it once and never going to see it again.

And i totally understand you don't want to see it, if you'd seen the Russian one. I saw it due to Morbid Coriousity, but the impact was stronger than i thought. My view on the spoils of war, were pretty distand. After that video i cried over my ignorance, talking about economic benefits of the war etc. they don't mean anything to me anymore, getting the boys and girls home is what means something to me now. People who've been down there won't be the same persons who comes home again.

I'm sorry if anyone else got offended by my post, and thanks to those who understood the message of me offering people the link in terms of enlightenment of the subject, and not in act of amusement or entertainment.

I'll edit my first post ( I think those who wanted to see the video, have seen it anyway )

And let's just put an end to this discussion.

I'll end my post with a qoute from a pretty famous danish jazz drummers front bass-drum head saying: " War is for losers, Bebop is for winners "
